Three Year, Three Spiral Training
With Ren Chapman and Kathy Jones
This Three Spiral training offers you a wonderful opportunity to journey deeply into the Heart of the Goddess in Avalon, connecting to the Lady of Avalon and Her Mysteries. The course is led by Priestesses of Avalon Ren Chapman and Kathy Jones, who have many years’ experience of teaching, healing and working within the transformative energies of Avalon.
Ren Chapman teaches the First and Second Spirals of the Priestess of Avalon training, mentored by Kathy Jones, who teaches the Third Spiral. Kathy is the founder of the Priestess of Avalon training, the author of several ground-breaking books on British Goddesses, sacred Avalon and healing, and has an international reputation as an authority on the Goddess. She is a co-founder of the Glastonbury Goddess Temple and the annual international Goddess Conference.
During the First Spiral participants meet in Glastonbury on eight weekends at the psychically potent cross-quarter and quarter Sunfire festivals, beginning at Samhain, the Keltic New Year. Through the eight circles we will explore the teachings and ceremonies connected to the seasons of the Goddess in Brigit’s Isles. All teachings are grounded in Britannia’s Sacred Wheel of the year, which is different to the Wiccan Wheel. It is specifically designed to invoke the presence of the ancient and present day British Goddesses.
Through the First Spiral students journey together through a teaching and ceremonial cycle learning what it means to become a Priestess or Priest of the Goddess and of Avalon. There will be many opportunities to deepen your personal devotion to the Goddess. You will explore the seasonal Goddesses of the British landscape and connect to the energies of the Isle of Avalon and the Goddesses who dwell here. You will design and make your own ceremonial tools and work with others to create ceremony and invoke sacred space. You will share together this magical journey into the Heart of the Goddess, healing lifetime wounds and inhibitions.
The First Spiral is completed at a special Ceremony in which successful participants make their own Vow of Dedication to the Goddess.
The First Spiral is taught by Priestess of Avalon Ren Chapman, mentored by Kathy Jones. Students will be given the course book Priestess of Avalon, Priestess of the Goddess by Kathy Jones, (Ariadne Publications) or another of Kathy’s books, at the beginning of their training.
During the second Spiral again over eight weekends, students develop their personal priest/essing skills, exploring the role of Goddess ceremonialist, counsellor, visionary and spiritual friend.
Throughout the Spiral you will deepen your First Spiral dedication vow and your understanding of what it means to be a true Priestess and Priest of the Goddess. You will learn to create and perform Goddess inspired ceremonies for all rites of passage, laying the seeds for your practice as a Priestess or Priest of the Goddess and of Avalon. There will also be opportunities to priest/ess in Ceremonies in the Glastonbury Goddess Temple. You will learn to work at a deeper energetic level. You will learn to travel between the upper, middle and lower worlds of Avalon for healing, guidance and soul retrieval. You will learn to scry for visions for yourself and your community, looking into the present to unravel the past. You will explore gender issues as they relate to your life, to the communities and cultures in which you live and to the vocation of a Priestess and Priest of the Goddess. You will learn how to Oracle for the Goddess and how to embody Her and offer Her blessings to others. You will explore the transformatory mysteries of the Glastonbury Tor Labrynth.
Successful completion of this Spiral culminates in a Ceremony of Self-Dedication as a Priestess of Priest of the Goddess.
The Third Spiral comprises a nine month daily spiritual practice which is designed to give you a deeper, more profound experience of the Presence of the Lady of Avalon, by journeying to meet Her every day. The Spiral is based around 4 weekends in Glastonbury. During the Spiral you will be taught the basic Practice of the Presence of the Lady using ritual, visualisation, movement and spiritual empowerment. You will experience the Energies, Powers and Presence of the Lady of Avalon. You will learn how to journey to Avalon and meet the Lady on a daily basis and develop visualisation skills and intuition.
The Practice intensifies through the nine months and culminates in the special Initiation Ceremony, in which successful candidates are Self-Initiated through the power of their own Souls, dedicating themselves to the Lady and to Avalon, as Priestesses and Priests of Avalon.
The In the Heart of the Goddess training is experiential and will involve you in change and personal development. The Goddess’s touch is transformative - She Changes Everything She Touches ..... and you need to be prepared for this to obtain the maximum benefit from participating in this course.

The Priestess of Avalon Three Spiral Email Correspondence Course is open to women and men who would like to take part in the In the Heart of the Goddess training programme in Glastonbury, England, but who are unable to do so for reasons of distance, finance, family, health or other considerations. The full training course with its many circles held in Glastonbury over three years is the best way to learn to become a Priestess of Avalon, but sometimes it is not possible to do this. Kathy Jones, the course founder, has decided to offer this opportunity of distance training to suitable applicants working in conjunction with her book “Priestess of Avalon, Priestess of the Goddess”, Kathy Jones (Ariadne Publications).
